Jan 13, 09- (Class 2nd Day)

Jan 13, 09

3. Methodological memos: These memos contemplate changes in your research design or approach to data collection:

- Qualitative or Quantitative Research is the methodology to know “THE TRUTH” and there are numerous different types of lenses that could be used to interpret the people or the world in this type of research.

-

4. Theoretical memos

- Why does Crosswell point out only four theories/ worldviews in this book? Are there more worldviews existing in the world?

- Social construction or postpositivism or feminism??? Is it necessary to typology to use narrow down our worldviews for research? Where do these theories came from? Who made this? What is the purpose for this? Do we really need for our research?

- We don’t know when our society started to be constructed and even don’t know who did it for us. However, we are living in this constructive society without questing or doubting. Of course, many don’t know the purpose of this society where we have lived in today. It is very interesting…

-

5. Analytic memos

- Worldviews… Social construction…

-

6. Faith reflection: Given the focus of this course and the role that field notes play, please include in your field notes, ways in which your faith tradition and values function as a lens in your observations, interviews, and other aspects of the research process.

- Inerrancy in the Bible??? But can’t judge them… Then how to deal with this?

- Journey…. However, it seems like our academic research journey is never ending… Why? We don’t have THE answer and don’t understand THE TRUTH.

- Why this is important to our faith or relationship with God?
